here is a story that I came up with, you can tell the difference in writing styles, from me, vs the ones from Spirit. Enjoy.
Mystical
It all started with that stone. That stupid crystal, I didn’t want it, I even told Hope to let it be, but she just had to touch it. That is when it all began, the series of freaky happenings that led me, well us, to where we are today---witches, and outcasts of the humanite community. Here I am, 26 years old, no husband, no kids, no life outside of the craft, and alone. All I have is the craft, what I know about it, and because of that, nothing at all. One sister is crazy, letting her powers consume her and the other, well she has the typical middle child syndrome, and me, and well I’m not sure how I feel about them. Do I want to embrace the destiny before me, or go back to a normal life? Then again, can I ever go back to normal after the last ten years of my life? This is all I have known, and part of me secretly hates it.
It was unusually warm that summer I turned 13. For my sisters and me it was the best bonding experience we could ask for. We did everything together. We were all blossoming into beautiful young women that year, and if you didn’t know any better, you would never believe we were blood. We all look so different and act very differently too!
Cassandra is my eldest sister. She had just turned 17 that spring and fell in love with life. She wanted to experience everything new and good that the world had to offer her. She stood five foot nine inches and was thin for her age. She has blue eyes, long brown hair and tan skin. Since we are evolved humans, she also has pointed ears. She does not look much different today than she did those years in high school. She has aged beautifully, just as out mother said she would. In fact, my sister very closely resembles our mother. Cassandra lived at home until she was 21.
Cassie is very outgoing and persuasive. This is especially true when she tries to get us to go along with one of her sill plans. It is never really her idea that sells, or even that she pushes so much. It’s actually her smile. It seems to go on for days. Hope and I will do anything to see her smile. Even get a tattoo. This is why we all ended up in a tattoo parlor that hot and muggy day.
Hope was 15 and she tended to anything we told her. Mostly I think because she wanted to feel included in our schemes. She was also a pretty girl, except she favored our great grandmother on moms’ side. She stood five foot four then, and she really hasn’t grown either. She has a very petite frame with big brown eyes and shoulder length brown hair. She has olive colored skin and a very innocent look to her face. Hope does not wear make up but also possesses the trademark pointed ears.
Hope, as I stated before, has a case of middle childe syndrome. I always got attention since I was the baby, and Cassie always got what she wanted, lets face it, she was spoiled. Hope always got the butt end of everything. It did not help that Cassie and I had become very close. Looking back, I realize now that we should have treated her differently. Maybe we could have changed who she would become. She always tagged along but was never quite “included” in our little undertakings. The tattoo was a big step for all of us.
I loved being the baby. Everyone always paid attention to me and believed everything I said. Now that I have “grown up” nobody really cares to listen to me. That is why you fine folks are hearing this story so that there is at least one true and accurate account of what happened to my sisters, and our life as we knew it. I am very different from my sisters. I favor my great grandmother on my father’s side.
I am five seven, and have a toned body. I work hard for what I have so don’t hate. I also have pointed ears but got the real beauty out of the three of us. I have green eyes and jet-black hair that I let grow to mid back. My skin is pale white and soft. I have juicy red lips and have been called a seductress or even temptress, by those married, of course. What can I say? I am a very physical creature, in all aspects of the word. My nickname is raven, because it seems that I am everywhere and nowhere all the time.
Anyhow, back to the tattoo. We each decided to get the same tattoo but in a different way. Each tat is part of the language that took over after English. Each symbol is attached to a different set of words. Hope’s sign is an infinity symbol with two vertical squiggles above and below it. It means eternally faithful. She got it on her left wrist, on the underside of it. She squealed and made the most awful face when she was sitting there. It made me second-guess what we were doing. Cassandra was up next. Hers was also an infinity sign, but vertical instead of horizontal. Her face did not twitch so much nor did she make a sound. Then again, Cass likes pain. Her tattoo means infinitely forgiving. It has been placed on her left wrist as well. When I finally got myself in that chair I thought the world was about to end. Hope watched them do mine and kept saying ewwwwwww!!!! It made me jittery, but it did not hurt me. I chose to have mine on a diagonal for right to left, mine also being an infinity sign and placed on my right wrist. I had to be different and dissociate myself somehow. We did not always get along, you know. My symbol means all powerful. Each of our symbols was picked so they accurately described all of us. When the symbols are put in order and read right to left it literally means, the power within.
After receiving instructions on how to care for our tattoos, we left and went home to show our parents. When we showed them, they got the strangest look on their faces and shared a knowing glance. Neither of my sisters noticed, but I did and gave my mother a questioning expression. She changed the subject and dismissed my look. My sisters and I decided to take a trip to the moon that afternoon.
It was the beginning of summer and a beautiful day to go sky surfing. We took frequent trips to the moon. It was the “cool kid” thing to do back then, now it’s just kind of, well, burnt out. We all hopped on our sky surfers and took off. Destination: moon, Direction: have insurmountable amounts of fun! It only took us an hour or so to get there, but we were having so much fun flying through the galaxy that it took twice as long to arrive. We got there a little after 3 pm. We were all enjoying ourselves and having gun when something caught Hope’s eye. Cassie and I know how inquisitive Hope can be, so we thought it best to follow her.
What Hope had seen was a rare moon crystal. There are only a few known to science, being not extinct, yet very hard to find. These crystals are the epitome of grandeur. They are a perfect pentagonal stone. The color is unlike anything you have ever seen. Specks of red and black freckled the surface.
The tale of these crystals dates back to 2039 when Roger Duval a French scientist who tested the moon prior to having built the first space station there first discovered them. It is said the crystals have mystical powers and anyone possessing one of them has powers unimaginable to mere humans. Dangerous enough, are these crystals, even to us, because the power eventually consumes and destroys us. From what the legend says, strange things begin to happen when a powerful witch takes possession of one of the crystals. Let me reemphasize strange. Things occur like morphing, body switching, mind control, and planetary alignment.
It is not your ordinary planetary alignment either. Five planets will align once a crystal is possessed by one being on each of the five planets. When this occurs, the possessors take on new and distinctive powers. These of course, add to the ones they already have. The five specific powers of the different crystals, when combined unleash a beast, so horrid that to look at him means staring death in the eye. It will have a tail of iron with many spikes protruding from it. It will have yellow eyes with green pupils, and red scaly skin. Its claws will be sharper than a gillotine blade. It will have two horns growing from its head. It breathes fire and brimstone. Not a force to be reckoned with. Only the five powers combined can save the world from certain destruction. The beast will take over, ruling forever if these five beings are evil. If they possess good, they will be able to sentence the beast once again.
The cosmos, as they are known today (they used to be called one and she used to be called Goddess, but the world didn’t like that too much, so now it’s many and he’s ) are trying desperately to keep that from happening and so scattered the crystals farther than the farthest reaches of the world. It was merely by chance or maybe more, perhaps destiny played a role in helping Hope find the crystal. Who knows why it happened the way it did. I told her to let it be, it was dangerous and none of us had a death wish.
I did not like the look of it. It was beautiful but scared me worse than ever before. Hope told me not to worry, that she only wanted to look at it, not touch it. It captivated her, and enticed her so much it seemed as though she had been hypnotized. Cassie had only a millisecond to yell before it was too late. Hope had lunged, or more like was pushed at the crystal. She snatched it off the moon surface and suddenly it started to glow. A bright while light emanated from it and filled all corners of the moon and basking all near it in its mighty energy and power. Cassie and I saw the burst of energy that spread through Hope. Then, I guess because we are all blood, or something, Cassie and I felt it too. It filled us all with great power.
Suddenly everything stopped. We looked at each other but we did not look any different than we had before, but we felt much differently. It was then that we found out Cassie’s power of premonition. She went to comfort Hope and put her arm around her. This is when she saw a bit of the future. She saw the beast being unleashed and uncontrollable. The premonition bothered her so much she sat on the ground and began to shake. It was not until later she told me of her premonition.
Marissa. Gazed into her crystal ball, “everything is going as planned,” she reveals to Olivia
Well, none of us knew exactly what happened. Of course, we had all heard the tall tale, whoever believes myths to that extreme? Those those are so out this world and impossible to believe. Then again, I was begining to see that things are not always, what they seem. We hopped on our sky surfers and headed for home. I felt somewhat queasy and startled as we flew back Hope said nothing which was very unlike her inquisitive self, and Cassie being so disturbed could not quite get control of her sky surfer, making us go extra slow.
We arrived home about a quarter after five and I put Cassie straight to bed. I then made some dinner for Hope and me. Momma and daddy were not home yet. They seldom were anymore, unless we got into trouble, then they just yelled from wherever they were. Leave it to me, the baby to be taking care of everyone who should be taking care of me.
Anyhow, back to the story. I did everything I could to make Hope feel more comfortable and tried to help her open up a bit, nothing worked. Therefore, I just sat beside her in silence, staring off into space. Then all of a sudden, Hope started to scream. I looked at her but no one was in the room with us and she was wide-awake. She was in some kind of trance. I shook her trying to make her stop. Cassie heard and came running out but neither of us could help Hope. Then I stopped for a minute and saw what Hope saw, or must have seen.
These beings were not human or angel but demon. They were transparent like ghosts and had similar qualities but at the same time, the looked like goblins during Halloween. They were the ugliest and scariest creatures I have ever seen. They were surrounding her, hitting her, and making gruesome faces. Cassie looked to me and asked, “Don’t you think it’s kind of loud in here?”
I only heard Hope’s screams, nothing else and I could not believe that all my sister was worried about was the noise. I still saw the creatures, but did not hear them. I guess Hope could do both. I didn’t know what to do, or how to make them go away. So I did the only thing I could do, I sang and centered myself around peace, “just a closer walk with thee…” Cassie noticed what I was doing and joined in “…grant it Jesus is my plea,,,” the song seemed to interrupt the gob-ghost play schedule and the stopped hitting Hope.
“Hope,” I told her, “sing”, so she did.
“Daily walking close to thee, let it be dear Lord let it be…” as all of us sang together, the gob-ghosts drifted into nothingness, one by one.
“What the hell just happened?” Cassie Questioned.
“I don’t know, I just felt like the shit was being beaten out of me and that I was so sad I couldn’t do anything about it,” replied a stunned Hope.
“ I heard a lot of buzzing, like a big crowd of people making noise” Cassie stated, “ none of it made sense.”
“Well,” I reported to them, “ I saw what Hope felt and what you heard Cassie”.
“Then why didn’t you help me?” Hope questioned ,irritated.
“ They were spirits for cosmos sake! I couldn’t have helped you in any physical way”, I retorted.
“This is no time to argue you two,” Cassie scolded us. “ Whatever is coming to get us will try again, and we have to be ready when it does.” We all looked at each other with confusion growing in our minds, but also amazed at all that had happened. I know we all were thinking that maybe the moon crystal myth was not a myth at all and was actually true. If it was, we were all facing certain doom. I stalked off to my room to process what had just happened.
Marissa looked into the crystal ball pleased. Her mistress’ plan was being executed perfectly, and faster than they had dared to hope.
Pluto, one of the few planets that got to keep its name after the "great war ", was also undergoing some craziness. Pluto is a vast and barren land. It is not fruitful, nor does it produce the substances one needs to survive. The sun does not rise or set, the moon is its only source of light from the sky. The surface of Pluto is sponge foil and sinks when weight is applied to it. Its atmosphere is mostly nitrogen and sulfur. This is due to the cosmic fire that rained years ago during the Great War. The sulfur is a direct remnant of it. There is no wind, animals, or plants, just Plutonians. The planet itself might as well be dead.
The beings on Pluto are the most unusual creatures as well. They are pink in color with pointed ears and toes. They have claw like hands and their feet have two toes on each foot. They usually have three or more eyes and white or blonde hair. Their skin is somewhat scaly and they require only one teaspoon of water a day to survive. Their stomachs are no bigger than the size of a pea. They are a highly evolved species of humanity. Their ears are on the back of their head. This actually makes them able to hear ten times more accurately than a humanoid.
As I said, Pluto was having its own strange day. Everyone on the planet had felt the surge of power just as we had. A being by the name of Castrofax found another crystal. It was the exact replica of ours. On their planet, crystals are used in ceremonies to reflect their true soul to the Plutonian God UGH. Since this was not an ordinary crystal, Castrofax found he could do extraordinary things. His hometown was old, poor, and falling apart . He made trees grow and bloom with all kinds of exotic fruits and vegetables. Everywhere he went he did good deeds using the crystal for nothing but good.
Planet X was not too vastly different from Pluto. It is a very diversified planet where at one time nothing could grow or survive. The creatures that inhabit this planet changed that. Now, the grass is lush and green, never drying or dying. Fruits, plants, and trees grow effortlessly. It has been cultivated by hard work and intelligence. The sun never stops shining and the birds never halt their melodies. This planet doesn’t’ sleep or rest.
The beings on this planet radiate a positive ness so great that the planet is very peaceful, as are they with each other and their environment and domestic. The beings are shape shifters in that they can turn into the object of their affection or desire. Most look like humanoids because they envy us who were once human. They have a greenish tint to their skin and usually six fingers instead of five- although they can easily add or take away from their appearance. They have a much smaller brain mass but are so much smarter than we are.
When the shape shifters found their crystal, they already knew of the horror it would bring, and trying, but to no avail, keep it away from the evil sorcerer, and could only sustain it for so long. The crystal ended up in the hands of the most powerful sorcerer on Planet X. He made himself ruler of all and reined with an iron fist. He claimed that until the day he could rule the cosmos and obtain all five crystals for himself it would only get worse. The shape shifter world was becoming more and more negative with every new day that came and went. They did not want him to rule, so set out on a quest to find the other crystals, and hopefully undo what damage he had already done.
Arachnotopia, the fourth planet consisted of rocks, volcanoes, lava, and obsidian. Rivers and lakes are of the purest blood- the blood of children. This planet is darkness, blackness and a void. Black raindrops fall due to atmospheric debris and the weather is always overcast. The water they use is an elixir made of rainwater and lava. Is said to cure all ailments. Nothing really grows, although there are plants and vegetation. Overall, this place is desolate.
The species that inhabit this planet, arachnoids as they are called, have eight legs and fangs. They are similar to spiders but are not. There are billions of creatures on this planet and the planet itself seems to go on for eons of light years. The arachnoids didn’t’ believe in such fruitless things as a magical crystal. They said it was completely crazy and anyone caught with a crystal in his or her possession magical or not, was to be executed.
Most of the creatures followed the rules. A couple slipped through the cracks every now and then. That day was one of those days. Barbinut was only 15 yeas old and had a red body with eight legs, four of which he stood on. He had big black eyes and stood four feet nine inches or so. He had three sprouts of hair on his head that he was teased mercilessly about. Nonetheless, he was full of spunk, spirit and quite stalky for a “bug”.
He was out by himself that afternoon walking along the river of blood flowing west to east, where he stopped for a drink. He lifted his head when he finished and saw the beautiful shiny thing that he later came to know as a crystal. Of course the crystal was not an ordinary one but the one. The one nobody was allowed to have in their presence. Barbinut knew he should not touch it, but instead turn around and walk away. Any other time, he would have. He was a polite and obedient child who always did what was right. However, this day, being so young and in such a curious state, Barbinut bent down and picked it up.
A magnificent red light shined forth, brightening the world around him. It jolted him with such force that he was thrown backwards, flung into a tree, and knocked senseless. When Barbinut came to, he felt himself full of lust, passion, anger and hatred. Normally Barbinut would not hurt a fly but whatever that crystal did to him, made him almost evil. The young arachnoid did not know what to do so he did the one thing he could, he ran.
He kept up his vigilant run until he could no longer physically carry on. Along the way, he dropped the crystal, but failed to notice, being shaken so badly of course. He finally collapsed in the middle of a ginormous crater. He had so much desire and rage coursing thorough his veins he did not know how to handle it. He shook his hands violently to make it stop. It only made it worse by blowing up whatever he shook he hands at, so he sat there screaming and pulling on his hair.
On Splendtifity, everyone was walking on sunshine. Literally. Spendtifity sits on one of the highest levels of the sky. Puffy white clouds mixed with angel dust and carbon make up the surface of this fantabulous planet. Rainbows are very prominent on the ground, which as you know is quite the opposite of earth. When it rains every color of the chakra is represented. This is a land of pure emotion where every dream is an opportunity waiting to happen. Fairies and pixies inhabit this land and so making it one of the most magical places in the world. There is never a gloomy day. In addition, fun is always afoot, along with some good ole fashioned mischief. It is a very loving and accepting place. Some seem to think this is the place we must visit when we dream. Now, I don't know about all that but it sure seems like a swell place to live.
On this most gloriously wonderful day, Melina, a blonde-haired, blue-eyed, petite pixie sat looking out at the beauty in front of her. Melina wore a blue dress and green slippers and had such a beautiful smile others couldn’t resist smiling back at her. Crystals were not uncommon in this world of fairmystical magic, but this one was different Melina noticed. In addition, it is unique, speckled with black and red flecks. Melina had never witnessed anything so captivating in her life. She stared for what seemed like years until a faerie came to tell her dinner was ready.
Her sister, Raychel, was a dainty little thing with rosy cheeks and pink hair. She had a child-like glow and innocence surrounded her. She had green wings with yellow eyes and was usually barefoot as she was that summer afternoon. Melina’s parents adopted Raychel after the “great war” that killed her mother and father. She was a good kid-until she saw the crystal. The enchanted ness mesmerized her also. The similarity in the two sisters stopped there. Raychel could not help herself, she just had to touch it. She picked it up, ever so gently, like a delicate pearl, and the light reflected off its many facets and cuts. She hummed softly and dropped it in her pocket. The sisters then went off to see about dinner.
Marissa gazed into her crystal ball. Things were not right or well. Something should have happened when that faerie touched the crystal. Why hadn’t it? She must tell her mistress that things were not going as smoothly as they had planned, and that coercing needed to take place, not just of the faerie, but of the sisters as well, and the do-gooder, if they had even a hope of their plan to work.
“Miss Olivia,” the seer spoke, “ there is something you should know”.
“What is it Marissa? It better not be something petty”.
“ No mistress, not this time, you see, a greater good will destroy us and ruin our plan if something is not done quickly.”
“What did you see?” Marissa explained all that had unfolded to her in the ball.
“ No one will ruin me Marissa, you shall see, you shall see. Leave the sisters to me, they WILL do as I say, whether it is willingly or otherwise. I will not lose. Let the others’ destinies play out for a moment, give them a chance to fix themselves.”
“Yes Mistress” Marissa murmured.
Now I don’t know about you but it seems to me things were about to get just a little bit crazy.
